What a beautiful Saturday we had watching 15 members of New Perspectives Church (a church plant with Future Generations International Missions) give their testimonies of how the Lord saved them and then each one followed suit in believers Baptism. Each one of these believers has spent time in a discipleship class learning what God’s word says about our believers Baptism.

Greetings from our home sweet Haiti!
Before I begin to tell you about our journey to get home to Jacmel, I want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, financial support and the love you have shown our family over these past several months. The journey to Haiti has been full of trials. But, in the end we are here. God has brought us this far, and we know He has great things in store. Stick with me, this is going to be a long post.
Many of you may not know this, but while Chase was setting up our house in Jacmel two weeks ago, he had a accident. While he was drilling the holes in our bedroom wall to install a small air conditioner (can I get a double praise for some AC!), the ladder he was using collapsed under him. He fell and hit the side of his face on the side of the ladder. He immediately called our teammates on the ground and they took him to a clinic. The clinic was able to call an ER doctor in the states and access the damage done to his face. They instructed him that he needed to get a CT scan done as soon he was able to get back to the states. He had one more full day of work ahead of him, and he insisted on staying to get as much done as possible. He was scheduled to fly back to the states two days later. He continued to work and flew back to the states on Wednesday March 8th. He arrived back to PE and myself around midnight.

One thing we have learned over the past few years in the mission field is all plans are subject to change according to God’s plan. We simply make the best prayerful plans and adjust as God shows us the direction He wants us to go.
Today was supposed to be THE DAY that our family of three boarded a plane and made the big move to Haiti. We have greatly anticipated this day and every night as I rock my baby girl I have prayed for her to have a smooth transition on the 28th of February. But, God had slightly different plans. And I will go ahead and tell you, without any surprise, His plan is much better than what we had come up with.

Chase and I are excited for what 2017 will hold and ready to be back in the field. Our time in the states was far from anything we could have expected. We definitely experienced some serious heart-break, but nothing can over shadow the joy we have experienced becoming parents! Zero words can explain our love and thanksgiving we have for our Sweet PE. We are smitten and everything that transpired in 2016 does not hold a candle to the arrival of our precious daughter! God has taught us so much about love and grace while being parents to PE.
Our family started off the new year by getting PE’s passport applied for and can I simply say, babies take the most adorable passport photos!! But, maybe I am a little biased! 😉
Our goal is to move to Haiti February 27th. A lot still needs to be accomplished for us to move into our rental house. What things you ask? Well, one main thing that needs to be done is power still needs to be ran to the house. Some other basic maintenance needs to be done and a biggie for me, a hot water heater needs to be added. Call me pampered, but I like to shower with hot water! Please be praying for the house to be ready and for other housing to be available if it is not ready.
Chase and I have had an over abundance of conversations about how much we miss our Ugandan family and friends. But, we cannot deny how God continues to encourage us and show us we are supposed to go to Haiti. While we still have some fundraising ground to make up gaining monthly supporters, we have NEVER been this far ahead in our fundraising. God continues to show his faithfulness to us through people giving so selflessly. A huge shout out to everyone who has given to our fund and for believing God can use us broken people to grow His kingdom. Please pray for more people to join our monthly support team.
The next few weeks are going to fly by and I pray we cherish our remaining time in the states. Here are a few exiting events coming up that we want to share with you and invite you to join us…
Thank you to every single one of you who has helped us during our time in the states. The body of Christ is alive and moving and I am so thankful for each one of you who has showered us with love and encouragement!
My goal is to keep everyone more informed this year through our blog. My apologies for my absents from blogging, but I have been over consumed loving on Sweet PE and I make no apologies for that. 😉
